Aiea Loop Trail

Corey and I went hiking on the Aiea Loop Trail with our friends, Tim and Julie. This trail took us about three hours and was gorgeous. It poured on us for fifteen minutes but the sun came out quickly. Corey and Tim felt it necessary to hike off trail as often as humanly possibly. Every so often, Julie and I would look up a mountain or down into a ravine, only to see Tim and Corey smiling happily at us. They also took great pride in being hunter-gatherers. Julie's friends came on the hike with us and were incredibly knowledgable on edible and inedible native fruits and plants. They introduced us to a delicious trail fruit that almost looked like pink tangerines but had the sweetness of a strawberry. While I was a little nervous eating these unknown fruits, I didn't die the next day, so I guess they knew their edible local flora. When the hike was over, Corey and I were devastated that we were going home to California soon and would no longer have access to our beloved tropical trails...By the way, that is Corey's favorite bandana on his head...he claims it gives him superpowers...just ask him.
