Yes, yes...that fabulous purple and yellow Easter basket was made for me by my wonderful husband. I know you are jealous of the traditional yellow peeps, jelly beans, malt ball eggs, chocolate Easter bunny and bubblegum eggs... I was beside myself with joy at the sight of the pink bunny hay and the utter fabulosity of it all. Clearly, the uber-modern square basket I made him with his favorite green tea, beef jerky and red vines was not nearly as cool.
Though we did not know it yet, this was our last holiday with Joe as a our only baby. He was so excited and kept poking his head in my basket and pulling out mouthfuls of bunny hay. (Followed by us chasing him down and pulling every last strand out of his mouth as he strongly protested...)
Yes, I know my morning natural beauty is absolutely rivoting...but it's all about the memories, right? If you were wondering why we are sleeping on a mattress on the living room floor, that would be because we were in the middle of painting our bedroom. If you were wondering why there is a diet cherry Pepsi in my Easter basket, that would be because we gave up soda for Lent. The bottom line is this: who has a boy who would take the time to put together the perfect childhood remniscent-1980's fabulous-traditional Easter basket of all time? Me. I'm in love.
