The Home Our Family Created

Corey and I were blessed enough to be able to buy our townhouse last July. Though I lived in our house from August through December, it was really just the shell of a house. I didn't have furniture, I didn't put new paint on the walls and I didn't ever call it my home. It was just the house. When Corey moved to California this January, he and Uncle Alan worked for weeks to scrape and replaster the ceilings in half of the house. Ceiling fans were installed and our bedroom, living room and kitchen were painted. We bought furniture for our living room and a table for our kitchen.

New windows and sliding glass doors were installed. By the time our wedding rolled around in March, our house had been transformed. Corey's mom helped us to turn our boring backyard into a pretty garden. My brother bought us a barbeque for a wedding gift and we bought a few patio chairs with our wedding money.

Our new dishes went into our cupboards. Our new rugs and towels went into our bathrooms. A new rug, pillows and blankets for our living room gave it a beautiful splash of color. Our house is so special because it was turned into a home by all of the generosity shown to us in the celebration of our marriage! We are so grateful for our parents, brothers and sisters, family and friends. Thank you for turning our house into our home!

Laura-- you have done such a beautiful job with your home! It is gorgeous. I love the soothing colors and clean lines. I also love that there is NO CLUTTER. I seriously need to de-clutter my place when we move and you have inspired me (as always). Terrific job! Can't wait to come have backyard BBQs!
