Luckily, I have the best husband, family and friends who totally spoiled me and made me forget that this was my Scary Age.
We spent the morning on the couch being lazy at his parent's house in Charleston. After I got up and showered, Corey said that we should get going. For some reason, I just assumed he was taking me to breakfast for my birthday. Instead, we drove to the town center. I questioned him about what exactly we were doing and he said, "You'll see..." He led me into a little bath products store, walked up to the counter and said, "We are here for the 10:15 massage appointment." Totally shocked, I gasped and sputtered, "We're getting MASSAGES????" He said, "WE aren't... but YOU are!" I was immediately led through a door and in a moment of panic and confusion, I called out to Corey, "Are you going to be here when I'm done?" He laughed, said yes and walked out the door. It was the best massage of my life. Ok, so it was only my third massage, but it was definitely my best massage. When I walked out of there, I felt refreshed, light on my feet and ready to celebrate.
As if the massage wasn't enough, Corey bought me these gorgeous tulips! I have a soft spot for pretty flowers and I was very surprised when these arrived at the house for me.
When we got home, we spent some time on the deck with Corey's mom enjoying the beautiful weather. We chatted and laughed before heading off to meet Molly, Corey's sister, for lunch. She treated me to a yummy lunch of fish and chips. It was so nice of her that we felt incredibly guilty as she headed back to work and we headed back home.
My wonderful day did not end there! My friend Shannon suprised me by sending flowers to me...she is so thoughtful and it really made me feel special. Liz sent a birthday card for me to Corey's parent's house and made my day. My mom and dad bought me a beautiful pearl bracelet for my birthday gift and also sent it to Charleston. My mom always finds a way to be there for important days and I should not have been surprised when a gift from my parents was handed to me. Corey's family ended the day by surprising me with gifts and a delicious dinner at an Italian restaurant. I thought my birthday was finally over but when we got back to the house, I found that Mama Robin had ordered me a personalized cake ! I know what you are all thinking and you are right. I DO have the most SPECIAL family and friends in the whole wide world.

That sounds like *such* a great day. 27 is a fantastic age...it's the age of your "Saturn returns" when you set everything in place for the next stage of your life. It's a time of new beginnings. Besides the 30's are wonderful!! Happy birthday!
