We were lucky enough to spend a week on a houseboat at Lake Powell this summer. But before we could go to Lake Powell, we had to go pick up my Uncle Jim's boat at Lake Mead. Once we picked the boat up at Lake Mead, we had to go meet our fellow houseboaters in Lake Havasu. Only then from Lake Havasu did we actually get to go to Lake Powell. What does all this mean? Not much. Except that we did a lot of driving on the first two days. It was 110 degrees at Lake Mead, 125 degrees at Lake Havasu and a pleasant 95 degrees at Lake Powell. So it also means that there was a lot of sweating going on.

How many men does it take to load the luggage on top of the car? 3 actually. By the way, it is worth mentioning that having that luggage container on top of the car was enough to send Uncle Jim into a slight depression. He just did not look cool on the road. He mentioned several times that the cargo container was ruining his image.
This was taken after we were woken up by the Top Gun soundtrack playing at full blast. Seriously. Poor Kevin and Corey. Stephanie and I were not that surprised. It seemed appropriate.

36 hours, 2 Dane Cook comedy CDs, a stop at Lake Mead, a stop at Lake Havasu, a can of pringles, a lot of complaints about the heat and a lot of good old-fashioned long car ride vacation family fun later, we were at Lake Powell. Trust me, we needed a drink.

Jealous.
That is all.
Actually, no. Tell Uncle Jim it could be worse. His cartop carrier could have "Space Cadet" emblazoned on the side...prompting all sorts of unnecessary comments. Just sayin'.
=)
sounds like quite the adventure!
