So, what is the best feeling ever? Finding $20 in your pocket. Well, today I had that feeling multiplied by 13. I tried on a pair of jeans that I had not worn in a year. Now, that being said, I had tried on this pair of jeans 2 months ago, decided not to wear them and hung them right back up. Today I decided to try them again. I didn't like them, took them off and went to hang them back up. It was then that I heard it. The distinct sound of money hitting the floor. I turned, looked and saw some cash, folded in half on the floor. I picked it up and noticed that the wad of money felt thicker than I would expect. I started to count. 20, 40, 60, 80...(WHAT THE HECK!!!)...100, 120, 140 (WHAT THE HECK!!!)...
TWO HUNDRED AND SIXTY DOLLARS. Thirteen twenty dollar bills.
Immediately, I wracked my brain. When did I wear these jeans last, why would I have this much cash, how could I have not noticed that I lost $260 dollars???? I had proclaimed it a miracle in my head when I remembered that I last wore these jeans the day after my wedding.
I had them on as Corey and I opened our wedding cards. I had them on as we realized that we were about to leave for our honeymoon with way too much money in our house. I had them on as I frantically separated the money into chunks and began hiding it in different parts of my house like a crazy woman.
I must have put the money in my pocket, to take on our honeymoon and forgot that it was there. I took these jeans, packed them in my suitcase, yet never wore them. In fact, I never wore them since that day.
How could I have not noticed the money when I put these jeans on a few months ago, only to decide not to wear them?
How could I have almost donated these jeans twice to Goodwill and not checked the pockets?
How could I have not known that I had $260 dollars in a pocket of jeans in my closet for a year and a half?????
Simple. God put this money away for a rainy day. Without me even knowing it. And this week it is pouring.

Nice! I am so happy that it was in CASH and NOT the $100 worth of CHECKS that I found two years later and was too embarassed to notify the check-writers. Congrats on the cash and the great blessing!
I am totally inspired to go dig thru the pockets of all of my winter coats to see if I come up with anything. Buy a plane ticket for the two of you to Denver! Michelle and I will feed you both!
Love.That.Story.
