Along with Rainbow Bridge, the other mandatory Lake Powell adventure is the hike to Liebel rock.
Depending on how low or high the water in the lake is, this can be a fairly easy trek or a ridiculously difficult one. Of course, the sun was unrelenting adding to the drama of the hike up the mountain.
We took a route that turned out to be more difficult than we had anticipated. In addition to almost falling down the mountain multiple times, many of us had some battle wounds from fights with sliding rocks and unstable sandstone. You can't tell, but trust me. Corey and I are huffin' and puffin' up that mountain.
The view is worth it every time.
